Hunter Lawrence, LMFT, MS
Hey there, I’m Hunter, and I’m so glad that you are here. Our potential work together invites you to share your story with me, so it only feels right that you hear part of mine.
Becoming a therapist was not what I had envisioned for myself when I was young. Quite the opposite, I avoided the topic entirely, often associating therapy and asking for help as a sign of weakness and a lack of willpower. A common belief in the world of my rural Arkansas upbringing.
It was only through years of battling depression, childhood trauma-related symptoms, and a rampant alcohol and drug addiction that I became willing to ask for help.
I found a therapist that changed my life. I began to dramatically change the way I viewed myself and the world around me. I began to live and thrive instead of just surviving.
After a career in scientific research at two different academic institutions left me feeling disconnected, unseen, and uninspired, I began to take steps to shift gears and offer to others what was given to me.
